Legal Departmentbio about how Sebring & Associates began Brenda B. Sebring - Mrs. Sebring is the principal of Sebring & Associates in Monroeville. She received her B.A. in 1977 from Dickinson College and her J.D. in 1980 from Dickinson School of Law. She served on the Dickinson Law Review as associate editor and the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. In addition, Mrs. Sebring has served as a lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on Pennsylvania Condominiums and Real Estate Cooperatives, Commercial Leasing, Commercial Loan Transactions, Commercial and Residential Title Insurance Underwriting, Residential Real Estate Documents and regarding Essentials of Pennsylvania Practice, and has lectured for the Real Estate Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. She has also lectured at Clarion University Center on various real estate title issues and for the Allegheny County Bar Association in connection with commercial and residential estate matters. Mrs. Sebring is also active in numerous charitable and community organizations, including the Variety Club of Pittsburgh and the Rotary Club of Monroeville, serving as a member of the Board of Directors. She has served as a past Chairman of the Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce and was the recipient of the Monroeville Area Chamber 2001 Joseph Lombard award in recognition of her volunteer service to that organization. Most Recently Mrs. Sebring was the initial recipient of the 2006 Wes Blaha Award. William E. Otto - Mr. Otto is a partner in the firm. He received his B.S. in 1971 from the United States Naval Academy and his J.D. in 1980 from Duquesne University School of Law. He has been an instructor for the Pennsylvania Realtor's Institute and the Graduate Realtor's Institute as well as the Realtors Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh. Mr. Otto is active in charitable and community organizations, and currently serves as a director of the Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce. He is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Matthew L. Prather -Mr. Prather received his B.A. in Psychology in 1998 from Gannon University. He received his Juris Doctorate in 2002 from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Westmoreland County Bar Association. At the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Mr. Prather served as a founding member of the Federalist Society, a member of the Moot Court Judicial Board and a member of the Trial Techniques Association. He was named a National Institute of Trial Advocacy Scholarship Award Winner. Mr. Prather has experience in a variety of legal settings including legal clerk under Justice Steve Lyle of the Supreme Court of the State of Oklahoma; general practice / business litigation at McCalister & Associates, Attorneys at Law; and litigation support for Reed Smith, LLP. Mr. Prather is active in charitable and community organizations, including the Rotary Club of Lower Burrell and the Ark of Learning; a Youth Mentoring and Tutoring group founded by the Salvation Army. Amanda E. McMillen-Ms. McMillen received her B.A. in Political Science in 2001 from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio and her J.D. in 2004 from the Duquesne University School of Law. She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and the Western District of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny Bar Association. At Duquesne University School of Law, Ms. McMillen was a member of the Women’s Law Association, the Innocence Project Clinic and she studied abroad in the Vatican City and Rome, Italy. Ms. McMillen has experience in a variety of legal settings including Estate Planning and Probate Administration and general practice at Kulik law Offices, Chapter 7 Bankruptcy debtor representation at Crawford McDonald, LLC and assisted Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee Crawford in documentation preparation and filings. |
